iAN&ANi DUO – Ian Maksin and Ani Gogova + SPECIAL APPEARANCE BY CHICAGO TANGO LEGEND JORGE NIEDAS AND TANGO 21 DANCE COMPANY!
iAN&ANi (Cellist Ian Maksin and pianist Ani Gogova) are back with a unique program featuring their own new renditions of Astor Piazzolla’s monumental works such as Adios Nonino, Oblivion, and Milonga del Angel. They will also present the world premiere of a new work “Ghost Tango” by Ilya Levinson, a Chicago-based composer, professor of composition at Columbia College. In addition , iAN&ANi will perform other passionate music from Latin America, Spain and music inspired by the Spanish theme – Ginastera, De Falla, Shchedrin, and Ravel.

Experience the ancient melodies, rhythms, and movements of Morocco and learn about the healing power of trance through music and dance. Far older than Arabic music, the traditions of Gnowa, Aissawa, Toktooka, and Jebelia take us back to an earlier time when the Tabl, Tareja, Tibla, and Darbooka opened the doors to another world.
