Megitza combines Americana with European Roma and Balkan music. After releasing five albums on her own Megitza became a Parlophone Music artist. She is due to release a new album this coming spring.
Megitza is a Polish singer, upright bass player and a composer who started her career in Chicago. She has performed at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Chicago Cultural Center. She left for Europe to perform at world’s most prestigious festivals such as Montreux Jazz Festival, Wien Jazz Festiwal, the Woodstock Festival, Rudolstadt Festival. Megitza now returns to Chicago for the first time since she left. Her comeback show at the Lincoln Hall will feature Chicago’s very own steel string ten finger tapping guitar prodigy, Andreas Kapsalis.
