Patricia Ibáñez made her first professional flamenco debut at merely five years old.  Since then, she has worked with various companies, studied and toured around the world and is here now to offer Chicago one of her most expressive performances. Accompanied by guitarist Thiago Vásquez and vocalist Rocío Fernández, artistically known as Rocío Parrilla, Patricia Ibáñez brings a high level of elegance and emotion to the intimate art of flamenco dance. Ibáñez has won many awards around the world for her stylish and powerful dance, including the first prize of Baile Libre in el Concurso Nacional de Baile por Alegrías in 2011 and the special prize of “Copa Jerez” granted by the chair of flamencology of Jerez.

2014 Chicago Flamenco Festival : The Instituto Cervantes, in collaboration with Arte y Vida Chicago, Old Town School of Folk Music and the Flamenco Arts Center, announces the 2014 Chicago Flamenco Festival. The Festival’s opening reception is on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Instituto Cervantes of Chicago, and the final performance will take place on March 22th. The Festival’s impressive line-up spans the worlds of music and dance and features some of the art’s brightest rising stars as well as established, critically acclaimed artists. These distinctive events further the Instituto Cervantes’ dedication to bringing the finest of Spanish and Hispanic culture in Chicago. Festival attendees will find something to suit all tastes in the full range of Flamenco arts explored in the performances.
