03/27 Kreyól Roots (Jazzy Caribbean reggae fusion) at Global Dance Party Old Town School of Folk Music

Kreyól Roots, led by Gerald “Toto” Alfred, the guitarist from acclaimed Haitian roots band Boukman Eksperyans for the past 20 years, are known to fuse jazz, pop, R&B, roots, reggae, and popular Haitian Kompa into one smooth sound.

What do you get when you get a group of extremely talented Haitian musicians, transplant them to the Windy City Chicago, and get them all together in the same room? You get the most amazing sounds heard outside of the Caribbean! Kreyòl Roots is a sound experience that will leave you longing for more and leaves you searching for words to explain the rhythms to your friends.
