Melvis Santa’s CD release of Santa Habana at Sabor A Cafe
Melvis Santa already has an impressive resume – a founding member of Sexto Sentido, work with Interactivo as well as many Cuban Jazz artists, film work in Siete días en la Habana and her own projects Santa Habana and Achedi. This Chicago performance (At Sabor a Cafe on May 9) has her collaborating with a hand-picked ensemble, three of whom took the roof off the place a few weeks ago when they played there with Eliel Lazo: Cuban saxophonist and keyboardist Orlando Sanchez “Cubajazz”, bassist Joshua Ramos and guitarist/keyboardist Rob Block. 9pm Sabor A Cafe Steakhouse 2435 W Peterson Ave, Chicago
“Goya & Dalí: Los Caprichos” exhibition at Instituto Cervantes| Revisit Goya through the work of Dalí on the former’s series of prints Los Caprichos. Dalí shows us a total work of art, consistent with Goya’s thinking, marked by a programmatic and enlightened character that reconciles the multiple sources of knowledge from Baroque tradition, the Classical world and the French Encyclopedists. The exhibition features 40 prints, 17 by Goya and 23 by Dalí, inviting us to discover two great masters through intelligence and humor.
