International Screenings Program (film) at Chicago Cultural Center FREE

Do you remember when you were 11? Filmmaker Genevieve Bailey travelled the world talking with 11-year-olds from 15 countries to compose this insightful, funny and moving documentary portrait of childhood. From an orphanage in India, to a single-parent household in inner-city Melbourne, to bathing with elephants in Thailand, the film weaves together deeply personal and at times hilarious insights of what it means to be at this transitional age. * post-screening discussion

Cinema/Chicago, together with the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and International Connections Committee, made up of consular and cultural partners, presents this free weekly film series that celebrates the richness and diversity of international and independent filmmaking. These 18 films from around the world embody genres and styles ranging from thoughtful coming-of-age dramas and inspiring documentaries to poignant love stories and laugh-out-loud comedies.

Please arrive early as seating is on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to theater capacity. Films are unrated. Viewer discretion is advised. Discussions will be held after select screenings.
