Wed 10/14 | Andreas Kapsalis & KOZM at World Music Wednesday at Old Town School of Folk Music

Ten-finger acoustic guitar virtuoso Andreas Kapsalis performs original compositions quoting Americana folk sensibilities infused with Balkan and European ornaments. His style of composition is always reminiscent of a soundtrack filled with emotionally introspective twists, contemplative motifs, and an air of intrigue and fantasy, all meant to accompany the audience’s imagination. Expect to hear a lively and rhythmic sound that is sure to challenge your expectations of how the acoustic guitar can be played. Andreas returns to Chicago debuting his first solo all acoustic guitar album. He has been calling the road his home more than the Windy City these last few years, alternating tours and life among Europe, America, and Asia.
“Combining the sounds of steel- and nylon-string acoustic guitars in a stew seasoned with multifinger attacks, percussive beats, and heavy Serbian and Greek influences…one tasty experimental dish.” – Guitar Player
