26th Annual Festival of Films from Iran (02/06-28)

The Gene Siskel Film Center welcomes you to the 26th Annual Festival of Films from Iran, February 6 through 28. Providing a view on contemporary Persian culture through the eyes of Iran’s filmmakers, the festival showcases the production of a nation where cinema is constantly changing and evolving on the cutting edge.

This year’s festival most definitely takes a look at the role of women in Iranian society through engaging dramas in which family connections, matters of the heart, and moral and legal questions spin around the central character of the woman. A dedicated career nurse ponders the direction of her life in AVALANCHE, while a shunned woman dares to fulfill a forbidden but in-demand back-alley need in YAHYA DIDN’T KEEP QUIET.
