09/27 & 29 | Piya Behrupiya a translation of Twelfth Night by Shakespeare

Part of the 2016 Eye On India festival, this award-winning production is a translation of Twelfth Night, and presented as a traditional nautanki folk musical, and filled with beautiful melodies from Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, Combining cruelty with high comedy, and the pangs of unrequited love with Shakespeare’s subtle poetry and exquisite songs, this show is “hysterical and mind-blowing…a two-hour rollercoaster ride.” –The Times of India.

Performed in Hindi with projected English translation by Company Theatre Mumbai.
